About a month ago my sister from Georgia was visiting for my nephews baptism. We went to the Red Baron Showlounge that Saturday night where she told me she wanted an Edgerton nickname. I should have explained to her that it’s actually a Fulton thing, but I didn’t want to get into small details after so many Miller Lites had been consumed. Now I should explain that I know people who answer to Buck, Nubby, Slewfoot, Pogie, Jughead, Long Rod, Buckshot, Woolite, Spike, Short Crotch and last but not least Crud. This is just a small example of the Fulton nickname at it’s finest. So we thought as hard as three drunks can on a Saturday night. Levi asked what do you have a lot of in Georgia? Now the obvious answer would have been peaches, but Bridgette and I came up with Waffle Houses. We just don’t have Waffle Houses north of the *sweet tea line. That’s how we dubbed my sister Andrea Waffle Head on a drunken Saturday night.
*Sweet tea line= the area of the United States where you quit asking for iced tea and refer to it as sweet tea. I think it starts around Southern Illinois.

I know it’s pretty lame for me to tell you how great something is, but I’m going to do it anyway. I bought a Revlon Pedi Expert tonight at Target. It is one of the best things I’ve ever spent 10 bucks on. My feet are oh so smooth. I needed to get to work on them since it’s March now and it was over 50 degrees today. In Wisconsin that is a reason to break out the shorts and flip flops, paint your toenails and drive with the top down. You don’t believe me? I saw 3 convertibles and 2 Harley’s on my way home tonight. Too bad it’s going to snow tomorrow. The joys of spring in Wisconsin. Anyway, the Pedi Expert is great. I know it’s just a Ped Egg in prettier pink packaging, but I fell for it Revlon. You rock, end of story.

Anyone who knows me knows I love TV. When I was on vacation in December I finally broke down and got a DVR cable box. Oh good lord in heaven how did I live with out this for so long? Why did I wait? It is the best thing ever! It has forever changed TV for me. I’m getting to the point where I don’t like watching live TV anymore. I don’t want to watch the commercials, not that I ever did. My roommate and I have been DVRing things left and right. I know have some new favorite shows because of this wonderful invention. Operation Repo and Man vs Food are 2 of my new favorites. If you have been waiting to get DVR, just go for it, you’ll never regret it.

This year at my Dad’s house we are exchanging names between the adults. There is a $25 limit which I was fine with until my Step Mom informed me no gift cards. WTF! No gift cards? I made the mistake to ask her why and she told me gift cards are not thoughtful. I beg to differ lady. What is more thoughtful, buying someone a gift card because you don’t know what on God’s green earth to buy them, or some crappy fruity body lotion from Bath and Body works? I am a person that truly appreciates gift cards. I don’t care if they are for Sephora or a gas station. There is going to be something I want at both places. I am fearful for what I might receive on this side of the family because none of them know me well enough to buy me a thoughtful present. I just want to know, where do you stand on gift cards?

My name is Jodi and my uncle is an alcoholic. With that being said, my last post was a total sham. I know it was several months ago, but that’s been how long it has taken me to come up with the courage and words to write this. When you last heard from me I had came home from Rhinelander. I lied and said it was a fab vacation. I couldn’t tell the truth at the time. To tell you that my aunt and uncle fought the whole time because he cared more about a bottle than his family. While we were up there my cousin almost came up to have me and my mom help her have him committed to a substance abuse program. My aunt left him shortly after we came home. September 3rd things finally got to the point where he agreed to go to the hospital and get help. I won’t go into details, but this summer wasn’t the best for my mom’s family. I am glad to say, but I got a Christmas card from my aunt. The picture was so wonderful it made me cry. My uncle looks like the man I grew up with. Not at all the person who caused so many tears this summer. I think I was waiting for a happy ending to write about. I really thought he was going to die this summer. I’m glad it went the other way.

Yeah, I know it’s been a while since I posted something. I’ll admit it, I just haven’t been that into blogging lately. That and I was on vacation for a week a while back. So what have I been up to you ask? What has been occupying my time? Everything but blogging. I went to one of my favorite places on vacation. Lake Mildred by Rhinelander. It’s so quite and peaceful. The loons making their weird noises. Not having to be up early. My mom making me pancakes. Oh how I love her pancakes. Other than going to Lake Mildred on my annual fishing trip with my mom and aunt I have just been hanging out. Developing obsessions on new things to me. I am mildly obsessed with the TV show Mad Men on AMC. I’ve watched 12 episodes in a 5 day span. I think I also need help for my Etsy obsession. In the last few weeks I have bought 4 pairs of earrings, a bottle cap necklace, a dog tag, and a necklace that has a level for the charm. In my defense the earrings were a buck a piece. Did you hear me ONE DOLLAR! How could I not buy them? I guess what I am trying to say is I’ve been lazy this month. Sorry folks.

My new home is right next door to Oren’s Auto body and Car wash. I can see the car’s being sprayed off to enter the car wash from where I am writing this post. I thought it would be distracting living next to the car wash, but it’s kind of relaxing. The spray is very soothing. I never realised how social the body shop is though. In the morning there are about 5 old guys that come as early as 5:30 to drink coffee. Yes I said 5:30! The hell guys? Have coffee at your own house. After work there’s always dudes coming and drinking beer there. I knew about that part before moving in. The coffee part kind of surprises me though. Who knew I lived next door to such a gathering spot.

My dad got a new dog today. I guess her name is Annie. She hails from Iowa. My dad got her at the Sauk City Humane Society. I guess poor Annie was brought from the Iowa floods. She is a Black Lab mix, and from what my dad says she is really well trained. She laid down in the car the whole way home, doesn’t bark, and likes to go for walks, but is really mellow. I figured he would have a new dog by the end of the summer. He keeps talking about getting a Boxer puppy. I thank God he found Annie first. She sounds more his speed. I think a Boxer pup would have been way to hyper for my dad and Sue and they would have given it away. I’m glad he got a new dog. He has been really lost since Chloe passed away in March. He keeps saying how lonely he is. Now he has a companion to ride around with to do all of his old guy stuff, like go to the dump. I don’t know why that is his favorite thing to do, but Annie, I hope you enjoy all of your future trips to the dump.

Tomorrow officially starts the move. I was at the new place about 2 hours ago and it has that new house smell. New carpeting and paint. Two smells that we were never greeted with here. I think the carpeting here is about 25+ years old. Granted, that worked out well for us in the beginning, we were young and spilled a few drinks. Now it’s just a reminder how much better the new place is. I’m thinking this will be my last post for a while. Between moving, walking to the Red Baron Showlounge, waiting for the Internet to be hooked up, and my parents anniversary party on the 12th(Wukstock), I’ll be kind of busy. That is why I wanted to mention this. Technically Behaving will be 1 year old on the 11th. Thank you to the 4 people who read this site on a some what regular basis. Don’t you feel better for knowing the extent of my drinking habits and TV reviews? How did you exist for all of these years without knowledge of the Red Baron Showlounge? I’m pretty sure that’s how I’m going to spend the TB anniversary. My sisters will all be coming into town that weekend. The 11the falls on a Thursday. Super happy hour at the Red Baron Showlounge is on Thursday’s. I will be living a hop, skip and a stumble from the Showlounge. See how this all is coming together?
