I made it back from Phoenix safely yesterday, I wish I could say the same for my luggage. I’ve never been left waiting at the baggage carousel. The ladies at the ticket counter in Madison were very helpful. My only complaint is they assured me that I would receive a phone call when my bag arrived and that someone would probably deliver it last night. I stayed up until 11:30 because the last flight in was suppose to be at 11. No phone call. I checked my bag status on American’s web site this morning, my bag is in Madison. What happened to the phone call ladies? I’m just glad it’s in Madison. I also had a scare on the way out where they had to page me to the American Airlines luggage counter. For whatever reason my bag was there and never came off the carousel. I think I need to buy a new suitcase, this one is bad luck. I went on a small shopping spree this weekend. My purchases/free swag from my sissy include a new Coach purse, quilt cover & pillow case from IKEA, 2 new pairs of Sketchers, Teva sandals, 5 new pairs of boot socks from GH Bass, and a little over a hundred bucks in makeup from Sephora. I was most worried about my new sheets. I forgot how awful shopping with my sister is. We shopped for about 8 hours on Friday. (I knew asking her to take me to IKEA would be a mistake!) I think we only shopped for about 5 hours on Saturday. My feet still kind of hurt. Other than my luggage issues, the rest of the trip was good. The issues with my niece made it one of the most emotional trips. I did a lot of shopping, got a mani/pedi and met my great niece and nephew for about an hour. It was nice to be in the warm weather and out of the snow. I think my face even got a little sunburned on Saturday. I am glad to be home though. It’s always nice to get away, but it’s even better to come home.
Update: My bag came sometime before 9:30 this morning. My new bedding from IKEA is in the dryer as I type. I’m kind of pissed at the Madison airport, they assured me they would call me if my bag came in last night.

It’s almost time for me to leave the frozen tundra for the weekend. I still have mixed feelings about this trip. I’m very excited to leave the barely above zero weather. I’m not so excited anymore to see my family. Don’t get me wrong, I love all of my sisters very much. I can only tolerate the older two in small doses. (The main reason I’m only going for the weekend.) I’m nervous to see what’s really going on out there. My sister and my niece are still fighting, my niece was a little snotty to me when she replied to an email I sent her about seeing her and her kids this weekend. I hate to admit this to you, but I’m planning on smoking this weekend. My sister and brother in law are both recovering alcoholics. I know they wouldn’t care if I drank in front of them, but I’d just rather not. My sister is a smoker, so she doesn’t care if I join in too. Sometimes you just need a release. Keep your fingers crossed Internet for a good weekend and safe flights. On the plus side, it doesn’t look like it’s going to snow on any of my travel days so I shouldn’t have any delays/cancellations.

Is it sad that I’m more excited about today being Wisconsin’s primary than I am about my trip to Phoenix this weekend? Does that make me twisted?

Dear Mother Nature,
You WHORE! I’m tired of you interfering with my weekend plans! I missed Population 4 this weekend at the Red Baron Showlounge because of you! (That and Becky didn’t feel well, but she doesn’t need to know) Thanks for getting bowling cancelled, now we have to make it up. I’m tired of the snow, sleet, blowing and drifting. I hope you can spare the shit weather long enough for me to fly to Phoenix and back this weekend. We already have had over 80 inches of snow this winter, don’t you think we’ve had enough? Seriously, you are acting like a douche bag!
Sincerely,
Jodi

Last night I finished reading The Heroin Diaries by Nikki Sixx. I highly recommend that you put it on your reading list NOW! I think it was the best non fiction book I have read in a long time. It’s journal entries from 1986-1987 when Motley Crue was on tour for Girls Girls Girls. I knew that the guys from Motley Crue were into drugs, but I had no idea. All I could think the whole time I was reading was how is Nikki Sixx not dead of an overdose or AIDS. I had to force myself to put it down long enough to sleep at night. The other bonus to reading this book, it made me really want to listen to some old school Crue. I have been listing to Decade of Decadence for a couple of days now and have no plans of stopping.

OMG! We really did get 20 inches of snow last week. That means a lot of shoveling! I think I shoveled Wednesday through Sunday and my back hurts! I have a lot going on right now also. Next Thursday I leave for Phoenix to see my great niece and nephew for the first time. I’m not real excited to go anymore. My sister sent me an email saying that my niece moved out and that they are not on speaking terms. If I want to see the kids I need to make my own arrangements to see them. MAKE MY OWN ARRANGEMENTS! Are you fucking kidding me?! The only reason I booked this trip was to see her kids! I don’t have a car there and if I did I wouldn’t know where to go. I don’t know if my niece has a car, she’s 19 and has 2 babies and no job, pretty sure she doesn’t have a car. As you can tell I’m pretty pissed off about this right now. I’m already planning on smoking next weekend. If my sister is pissed of at my niece that means she’s not going to be in a very good mood. I’d drink, but my sister and brother in law are both recovering alcoholics. This should be an interesting trip to say the least. I’m just going to go to the Red Baron Showlounge and drown my sorrows this weekend. It’s going to be awesome! Population 4 is going be playing. I can’t wait!

I know as a woman we are all looking for a lot of inches in appropriate places, but mother nature you’re not one of them. The National Weather Service is projecting 14-20 inches of snow in South Central Wisconsin between now(4pm) and 3pm tomorrow. There is suppose to be at least 10 inches on the ground by 6 am tomorrow. The hell mother nature?? As of right now we are 18 inches away from breaking the most snow in a season. The record is from 1978-79 winter. I seriously thought the radio announcer at work was fucking with me when I heard this on the radio today. On an unrelated topic I found my first genuine gray hair today. I will remember that forever. I was sitting at my desk checking my self out in the mirror I keep at my desk. I’m pretty sure this means I am officially a woman now. Does this mean that all of the screaming kids at Walmart gave me this gray hair since I don’t have any of my own? I’m pretty sure the kids next door had something to do with it too. Maybe I’ll use my impending snowday tomorrow to look for more.

Living in Wisconsin I tend to hibernate in the winter. This winter has been exceptionally bad. I think we are about 18 inches away from tying the record snowfall in a season set in the winter of 78-79. I tend to stay in from about November until about February. If all goes well tomorrow I will be going out. I am going to shave my nasty legs and venture to a bar, possibly the Red Baron Showlounge. I do not know where we will go, but I can already taste the Miller Lite.
